Project Design
Currently, the Pierce Run AMD Remediation Project is in the "Conceptual Design Phase." The Conceptual Design, outlined on the Project Overview page, has been developed by ATC Associates and the Raccoon Creek Partners. The final design should be completed by late fall of 2008.
Project Monitoring
Pre-construction monitoring is being conducted at the Oreton Seep site, along the mainstem of Pierce Run, and on the mainstem of Raccoon Creek, upstream and downstream of the mouth of Pierce Run. This data will be used as baseline data to document changes in water chemistry and biological comunities after the completion of the project.
